The designer Alessandro Martino starts his artistic career by drawing "for fun" the parallelepipeds, illuminating some sections, after having worked for years in an engineering industry. To create these figures he uses special technical drawing programs and chooses iron as a material, thanks to his ability to adapt to any environment, merging with what surrounds him.
From these experiments his lamps are born with a minimal and linear style, but with an artisan soul that enhances the properties. Recently you decide to make some lamps also in wood, so as to get closer to nature after the "industrial period".
After a year of preparation of the lamps, presented at the Fuorisalone 2019, together with a study of architects from Pavia with whom he collaborated to create design objects, interior studies and gardens. It uses recycled and recyclable materials, denoting respect for the environment and preferring limited production or unique pieces that are not in series.
The main concept around which Alessandro's artistic philosophy revolves is to think and make useful objects different from the common ones. - Who are you?
